Privacy Policy

The short version

• The Windows desktop app and Excel add-in convert your files entirely on your own computer. Your spreadsheets are not uploaded to us.
• The free web converter sends your file to our server to convert it. The file is deleted right after each request — it is never stored.
• No accounts. You never register, sign in, or hand over your name or email to use CrazySmartPDF.
• Payments are handled by Whop, a third-party checkout. We never see your card details.
• The website counts visits with Google Analytics and with Vercel's built-in analytics. Nothing else tracks you here, and none of it is advertising.

The free web converter

When you drop a workbook into the converter on our home page, your browser sends that file over HTTPS to our conversion service (running at crazysmartpdf-convert.fly.dev, hosted on Fly.io). The service converts it with the CrazySmartPDF engine and returns the PDF to your browser. Your file is processed in a temporary folder that is deleted right after each request — uploaded files are never stored, and they are used for nothing except producing your PDF.

The Windows desktop app and Excel add-in

Conversion in the desktop app and the Excel add-in happens entirely on your machine. Your workbooks and the PDFs made from them stay on your computer — they are never uploaded to us — and your original files are never modified.

The desktop app makes only two kinds of network request:

• Update check. On launch, the desktop app checks its GitHub Releases feed for a newer version and updates itself when one exists. This request goes to GitHub; none of your files or personal data is sent with it.
• Pro activation. If you buy Pro and paste in your license key, the app sends that key to our validation endpoint (crazysmartpdf.com/api/validate-license), which asks Whop whether the key is valid and passes the yes/no answer back. The endpoint keeps no copy of your key. The app stores the key on your own computer so you don't have to enter it again.

No accounts, no sign-up

CrazySmartPDF has no user accounts. There is nothing to register for, no login, and no profile — so we do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords. The one way we ever receive personal information is if you email us yourself (see below).

Website analytics

Two analytics tools run on this website, both only on the live site (crazysmartpdf.com) — never on preview deployments or local copies. Neither is an advertising tool, and neither is used to build a profile of you.

• Google Analytics 4 — tells us which pages get visited and roughly where visitors come from. It sets its own cookies to tell returning visitors apart; what we see is aggregate usage (pages, countries, devices), not who you are. See Google's privacy policy.
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights — page-view counts and real-world page-speed measurements, provided by the host that already serves this site. These are cookieless: they set no cookies, store nothing on your device, and do not track you between sites or sessions. Speed Insights reports timing numbers (how fast the page rendered and responded), not content. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Cookies

Our own code sets no cookies and uses no local storage. The only cookies on the site come from Google Analytics, described above — Vercel's analytics are cookieless. There is no cookie-based login because there are no logins.

Payments

CrazySmartPDF Pro is sold through Whop, a third-party checkout. When you buy, payment happens on Whop's site: Whop processes your payment and issues your license key, and your card and billing details stay with Whop — we never receive them. When a license key is validated, Whop tells us only whether the key is valid and which product it belongs to. See Whop's privacy policy. The Team plan is arranged over plain email — there is no form and no form backend.

Downloads

The installer, the portable app, and the Excel add-in are served from GitHub Releases, and the desktop app's updates come from the same feed. Downloads are subject to GitHub's privacy statement.

Third-party services

The complete list of outside services involved in running CrazySmartPDF, and what each one does:

• Vercel — hosts this website and the license-validation endpoint, and provides the cookieless page-view and page-speed analytics described above (privacy policy).
• Fly.io — runs the web converter service (privacy policy).
• Google — site analytics (live site only) and the fonts this site loads from Google Fonts (privacy policy).
• Whop — Pro checkout and license validation (privacy policy).
• GitHub — hosts downloads and the update feed (privacy statement).

Like any service on the internet, these providers handle standard technical request data (such as your IP address) when your browser or the app connects to them.

If you email us

If you write to crazysmartpdf@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we use it to reply and sort out your question. We don't add you to any mailing list — there isn't one.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top.
